CRC attendants are there to help and assist, and it is important for all members of the public and our staff to be treated with respect. We aim to treat residents courteously at all times and expect visiting residents to treat staff in a similarly respectful way.

We take seriously any threatening or abusive behaviour against any attendants or supervisors. If a member of the public is threatening or abusive, they will be asked to leave and will not be permitted access to the site. We have a Zero Tolerance Policy, whereby aggressive or threatening behaviour towards our staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Members of the public caught verbally or otherwise abusing CRC staff, will result in further actions being taken, including escalation to South Wales Police where appropriate.

We hope that you welcome this policy which is in place for the best interests of hard-working frontline staff whilst carrying out their duties.

Van & Commercial Vehicle Usage Rules

All visitors to site requiring waste disposals in vehicles larger than a car or 4x4 must comply with the van permit booking procedure. Discretion can be used by attendants for clean stream/single items/quick disposals such as bedframe, chair, or cardboard boxes for larger vehicles. A permit will need to be completed but residents DO NOT need to call the booking number.

Vans of a transit size to a maximum of 1.5 tonnes must provide proof of residency in the RCT area and complete a van permit for each visit to site. Proof of residency can be a utility bill, driver licence or the van rental agreement matching the details for the permit. Flatbed tippers or Luton vans exceeding 1.5 tonnes are not permitted under any circumstance. Tractors towing trailers are not permitted.

Vans must be booked with prior notice using the dedicated booking number 07824 541758. Bookings are available Mon-Fri (07.30 - 15.30) and therefore advanced notice is needed for weekend tipping at the sites in line with discretion for lighter loads.

Full vans with large quantities of various mixed wastes are not permitted - the service aims to increase residential recycling and reuse. Options can be provided for tipping at Bryn Pica trade and sorting facility by calling 01685 870770.

Camper vans are permitted entry to the CRC alongside cars/4x4's including small, towed trailers. This does not include caddy vans/conversions which do require a permit.

The permit will be checked by attendants before disposal is allowed and only granted if the information recorded matches the vehicle and residency information provided.

The Community Recycling Centres are for residential use only, attempts to dispose of trade or commercial wastes in any vehicle at community recycling centres could be a crime under section 34 of the environmental protection act 1990.
