The Landlord Incentive Scheme is a new service to encourage those who need a home to find one in the private rented sector.

The Council’s Private Rented Sector Solutions Service is looking for good quality flats and houses for rent in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
A range of Landlord services and incentives are available dependent on the type and size of the property and area demand.
The service is free to landlords willing to accommodate individuals and families nominated by the Council.
Our Services and Incentives Include:
Single point of contact
A dedicated officer is available to offer advice and assistance to landlords and access specialist services to resolve tenancy related problems and help resolve any problems if they were to occur.
Housing benefit checks
We will ensure all housing benefit claims are set up at the beginning of new tenancy and that direct payments are made into your bank account where eligible.
Fast track housing benefit, local housing allowance applications and payments
A dedicated housing benefit officer officer will fast track housing benefit and Local Housing Allowance applications and provide advice and assistance for benefit queries.
We are able to nominate prospective tenants according to their housing needs.
Financial guarantee package
Landlords may be eligible for a range of non refundable financial incentives to assist prospective tenants nominated by the Council to access and sustain accommodation in the Private Rented Sector.
The type of payment or incentive will be dependent on property type, location and the needs of the client but will include bonds and rent in advance payments, guaranteed rent payments and one off payments.
Additional incentives are available for securing accommodation in high demand areas.

We will offer free tenancy support to individuals and families to move into their new home and to help with any ongoing issues such looking after the property, keeping up with rent and with any additional help with managing a tenancy.
Landlords will receive financial assistance to develop shared accommodation options to include grant assistance to help set up CCTV and other security measures and the provision of works to adapt a property for the provision of shared accommodation.
We can also provide a package of free housing management and ongoing tenancy support services to help support those living in shared housing.
What we require to be accepted on scheme.
- a minimum offer of a six month assured shorthold tenancy with an option to renew the tenancy at the end of the agreement
- all rooms and properties need to be clean, well maintained and presented
- all furniture and white goods to be supplied must meet fire and safety regulations
- we require properties to have suitable light fittings, curtain tracks, carpet’s or laminate flooring in all rooms
- there should be suitable carbon monoxide alarm or alarms
- a gas safe certificate must be provided as required by law
