In November 2018, proposals for the modernisation of residential and day care services were considered by the Council’s Cabinet and it was agreed that a 12 week consultation on the Cabinet’s preferred option be carried out.

Following a commitment from Cabinet in September 2017, a £50m investment in Extra Care is being made in Rhondda Cynon Taf. This will see five new facilities open across the County Borough. This new provision is at the heart of the Council’s proposals to modernise care for older people. Find out more about Extra Care here:
