Traffic flow along a busy junction in Pontypridd has been improved thanks to works carried out by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council.
Junction improvement works began in early March along the busy B4595 Broadway to widen the traffic controlled junction and ease queuing and congestion.
The previously announced £65,000 investment has led to the busy junction being widened to provide an additional right turn lane on to the A4058 heading towards the A470 (Sainsbury’s) and also included the installation of new pedestrian detectors incorporated into the traffic signal controls.
Nigel Wheeler, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Director for Highways and Streetcare Services, said: “Works to the busy Broadway junction have now been completed and will improve traffic flow in the area.
“Works were scheduled and organised to minimise disruption where possible. We would like to thank road users for their cooperation whilst this important upgrade was completed.”
