The world-famous Treorchy Male Choir is making its first visit to the Cynon Valley in thirty-five years in a joint performance with Aberdare Park Primary School.
On May 17th the internationally-renowned Choir that has toured the world and performed with superstars on stage and screen, will be bringing their unique sound to the Coliseum, Aberdare.
The Choir, which is shortly celebrating its 130th birthday, has performed across the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia on many occasions. They were the first Choir to sing at the Sydney Opera House and have sold-out the same venue on no less than four occasions.
Over the years the Choir has enjoyed an unrivalled National Eisteddfod competition record. They have released 90 albums, making them the most recorded male voice choir in the world and have worked with the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Tom Jones, Julie Andrews, Burt Bacharach and Dame Shirley Bassey to name a few.
In more recent times the Choir opened the new Cardiff City Stadium, regularly perform at the Millennium Stadium prior to Welsh rugby international games and have released a new critically-acclaimed album entitled “Timeless”.
With an extensive repertoire of music ranging from “Nessun Dorma” and “You Raise Me Up” to well-loved Welsh music and Broadway showtunes, the Choir will perform a large selection of songs to suit all tastes.
Appearing with the Choir will be the children of Aberdare Park Primary School.
