The focus for all Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCB) is the protection of children from abuse and neglect.

The Rhondda Cynon Taf Local Safeguarding Children Board (RCT LSCB) is the multi-agency partnership which has responsibility for safeguarding children in our area.  It is made up of the following statutory partners:

• Cwm Taf Local Health Board
• South Wales Police
• Wales Probation Trust
• RCT Children's Services
• Education
• Youth Offending Service
• Housing Services and the
• Voluntary Sector. 

It monitors how well agencies and other partnerships undertake their work with regard to safeguarding and ensures safeguarding is embedded in all working practices.

The LSCB commission reviews whenever the circumstances of any case meet the criteria set out in Welsh Government guidance indicating when such reviews should take place.  Reviews identify lessons that can be learned by agencies associated with the cases under review so we can implement recommendations and so continue to improve the effectiveness of our multi-agency arrangements in the County Borough to safeguard our children and young people.
