Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is one of six local authorities operating the European Regional Development Fund SEWCED programme in the South East Wales area until 2015.
This project aims to build economic sustainable communities through the grant programme and focus' on:

increasing the economic contribution of the third sector

improving services for communities where gaps can be clearly identified

developing local networks that engage local communities to find and implement local solutions

promoting social inclusion through cultural and heritage activities
Organisations who have been awarded a grant from the SEWCED programme include:
Arts Factory|, Groundwork Merthyr & RCT|, Total Care Support Solutions|, Rhondda Cynon Taf Community Arts| and Dark Sky Wales Education Services|.
Please note this programme is now closed to capital applications therefore only options A and B are available and all projects have to be completed by 31st March 2015.
Option A
Type of Grant Funding: Revenue for third sector organisations
Amount of Grant Funding: Up to £25000
Intervention Rate: Maximum intervention of up to 100%
Eligible Grant Activities: Organisational development including Business planning, short term contracted staff, consultancy fees, general running costs, marketing, PR and training.
Option B
Type of Grant Funding: Revenue for third sector organisations
Amount of Grant Funding: £80000 in total over a maximum of 3 years
Intervention Rate: Tapered over three years. Year 1 - up to 100%, Year 2 - up to 75% and Year 3 - up to 50%.
Eligible Grant Activities: Aimed at providing staff for Third Sector Organisations
Option C
Type of Grant Funding: Capital for third sector organisations
Amount of Grant Funding: Up to £25000
Intervention Rate: Up to 100%
Eligible Grant Activities: Purchase of IT equipment, feasibility studies, basic refurbishment
Option D
Type of Grant Funding: Capital for third sector organisations
Amount of Grant Funding: Up to £50000
Intervention Rate: Up to 50%
Eligible Grant Activities: Purchase of property, complete refurbishment of buildings, new builds, major structural works, development of visitor attractions, development of sector specific centres.
This programme is delivered in partnership by a six-valleys Local Authority consortium of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly and Torfaen. The CED Programme is supported by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government.
