Rhondda Cynon Taf Council offer grants when funding allows, however, these schemes are discretionary and may have restricted eligibility.
Enterprise Support Programme
This flexible grant programme is delivered by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council. It provides financial assistance to new or existing private and social enterprises that are located, or are planning to locate, in Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough.
Financial support is available for full-time, exisiting and start-up enterprises based in Rhondda Cynon Taf and can assist with the purchase of capital equipment (including ICT), improvement of commercial premises, development of a website and one off marketing costs. Social enterprises can also benefit from support for organisational and project development.
Start-up (trading under 12 months)
Grants are available from £500 up to £10,000 based on 40% of the eligible project costs.
Grants are available from £1000 up to £10,000 based on 40% of the eligible project costs.
Home based businesses
Maximum grant available is £1500.
A minimum of one full time equivalent job must be created by private sector businesses requesting grants up to £5000 this raises to two full time equivalent jobs for grants up to £10,000. Support for social enterprises will focus on the growth and development of sustainable enterprises.
Please note expenditure incurred before grant approval is not eligible for funding.

Aim:The aim of the programme is to create ‘super-connected cities’ across the UK, delivering high-speed, high-quality, seamless broadband to businesses by 2015.
Who can apply: The Cardiff Connection Voucher Scheme is open to Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs), Social Enterprises, Community Interest Companies, Charities, Small Office Home Office (SOHO's) or Sole Traders. And who are based at a business premises or residential address in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

What can it fund: Applicants can apply for funding for the capital costs of installing a new broadband connection directly to a premise in order to access high speed connectivity and capability. The scheme supports:
- One Voucher per Organisation
- Business or residential address
- 100% of capital installation costs
- Vouchers from £100 to £3,000
- Minimum speeds of 30Mbps on a shared line or 20Mbps on a dedicated service
- Monthly service charges are excluded from the grant
