Economic Regeneration and Transport is one of the five core improvement themes of the Rhondda Cynon Taf Community Strategy. The Council's draft three year Economic Regeneration Strategy was available for public consultation and welcomed the views of all residents, businesses and other interested parties.
In the current uncertain economic conditions, it is important that we have clearly defined priorities and actions which can deliver economic regeneration improvements. The Strategy sets out a framework for the delivery of key priorities for the area and will be delivered through a corresponding Action Plan, the detail of which will be developed following the end of the consultation period which was Friday 10th February 2012.
The Strategy sets out the following five key priorities:
-
Helping Local People Find Jobs;
-
Developing Rhondda Cynon Taf as a location for New Business and Investment;
-
Regenerating Town Centres;
-
Supporting the Growth and Development of Local Businesses; and
-
Improving Transport to Support Economic Development.
It is proposed that these Priorities form the basis of an ambitious but realistic programme of project delivery that will be closely monitored and evaluated to ensure that it achieves significant and sustainable outcomes, making Rhondda Cynon Taf a place where businesses can thrive and people want to live, visit and work.
