Pontypridd is benefitting from its largest cash injection thanks to Rhondda Cynon Taf Council. By securing a financial package of £10.5million the regeneration of the town centre is well underway and the changes are there for all to see.
£10.5M Pontypridd Town Centre Regeneration project is taking place following the Council securing financial support from the Welsh Government through the European Regional Development Fund and Targeted Match Funding, alongside Council and private sector contributions.
The financial package is being delivered alongside a whole host of private sector investment programmes in the town, which means that over all a £75million masterplan is transforming Pontypridd.
In the town centre the Council's project is remodelling the street scene in and around Taff Street, High Street, Market Street, Church Street and Mill Street. It is also supporting grants to private sector property owners to carry our high quality improvements to the internal and external parts of their business premises.
The work comes alongside the regeneration of the Taff Vale Shopping Precinct, a multi-million pound Sainsbury's store for the Brown Lenox site and the refurbishment of Pontypridd Railway Station.
