Public Toilets

Does the Council provide public conveniences?

We provide a large number of public conveniences throughout the borough and we maintain them and keep them clean. All public conveniences are cleaned at least three times a day.

Wherever possible, disabled facilities and baby changing facilities are provided. The list below provides the locations of all public conveniences and the facilities that are available.

Does the Council provide disabled facilities at its public conveniences?

We provide disabled facilities wherever possible. The list of public toilets below includes the facilities that are provided.

How can I gain access to disabled toilets?

We are part of the National Key Scheme (NKS) which offers independent access to disabled people to around 7,000 locked public toilets around the country.

Frequently asked questions regarding Radar Keys

Radar KeyWhat is a Radar Key?

A Radar Key enables access to accessible toilets within Rhondda Cynon Taf and around the country for disabled people.

Who can get a Radar Key?

The key is available to any disabled person who is in receipt of the higher level of Disability Allowance (Mobility Component) or has a disabled parking blue badge.

Where can I get one?

Rhondda Cynon Taf currently provides RADAR keys free of charge at its One 4 All Centres in Treorchy, Pontypridd and Aberdare.

Simply go to the One 4 All Centre with proof of eligibility (confirmation of higher level of disability living allowance – mobility component or your blue badge) and ask to be issued with a RADAR key. Once you have provided the necessary documents you will be issued with a key free of charge and a record will be kept that you have received one.

The Council ask for this proof to comply with the guidelines issued by RADAR and to ensure that only disabled people are issued with keys.

Staff will only issue a key if you provide the proof of eligibility; this is to avoid misuse of the system by non-disabled people.

If you would like more information regarding RADAR services you can contact them on 020 7250 3222 or on their web site www.radar.org.uk|
