School Uniform Provision
The provision of distinctive school clothing is a discretionary award and as such each individual prmary and comprehensive school decides the value of the allowance and how it is provided.
Currently all schools provide a school clothing allowance for all pupils from reception to year 11 whose name appears on the free school meals register.
If you have not applied for a Free School Meal and would like to apply for a uniform allowance please ring 01443 425002 or fill in an application form for Free School Meals.
Depending on the school, these allowances can be in the form of cheques, uniform packs and vouchers for certain shops.

School Uniform Grants
The Welsh Assembly Government also provide a “one-off” school uniform grant (currently to the value of £105) to parents of year 7 children entering the secondary school sector and Special Schools, which is administered by the local education authority on their behalf. The criteria to receive the grant is, “that the pupil is registered to receive a free school meal”. No further application to receive this grant is required by parents. The grant either in the form of a cheque, uniform packs or vouchers to a nominated uniform supplier will be available from your child's secondary school. To receive the grant you must registered for a Free School Meal by January 31st 2012. The grant is then issued in the form of cheques, uniform packs and vouchers for certain shops depending on each individual comprehensive schools
