Most developments, either physical work like new buildings and extensions, or changes of use of land and buildings, need to have planning permission before they can be carried out.
View planning applications and decisions by searching our online register.
The council provides information on planning applications that have been submitted and decisions made which can be viewed by searching an online register. Associated scanned documents are available but, before November 2008, are not yet complete. If you want to view planning applications that are not yet online you need to visit the council offices.

Please be aware that whilst every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information, the planning information contained within the site is at present incomplete and must not be used as a substitute for carrying out a formal Local Land Charges search and does not replace the Council's statutory register of planning applications.
Please be aware that work is ongoing relating to the integrity of the underlying property database. As a result of bringing together information from various paper-based and electronic sources, you may find that some properties are duplicated and/or not addressed in a uniform way, and therefore you should exercise care when searching. Boundaries shown on the Ordnance Survey mapping and implied through planning applications do not necessarily relate to land ownership. All queries related to land ownership should be directed to the Land Registry.
No responsibility will be taken for any errors or omissions in the planning history information obtained from our online register. Similarly, the information online does not in any way constitute a formal notification of a planning decision, and as such any actions taken as a result of information displayed on the site are undertaken entirely at the viewer's own risk.
Plans, drawings and material submitted to the council are protected by copyright (Section 47 Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988). You may only use material that is downloaded and/or printed for consultation purposes; to compare current applications with previous schemes and to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans. Further copies must not be made without the prior permission of the copyright owner.
