Aberdare Town Centre

My-Aberdare-Regeneration

Exciting improvements are nearing completion in Aberdare town centre resulting in a more attractive place to spend your time and to encourage more visitors and businesses alike.

The major changes include new street furniture, new pavements, roads and street lighting in and around the town centre. As well as these fantastic improvements there is money available for works to properties, through the Townscape Heritage Initiative.

Information on this can be accessed here.| This is a great opportunity for property owners who want to enhance their properties whilst increasing the attractiveness of the town.

The project’s scope was informed by the Aberdare Town Centre Regeneration Strategy.

In June 2011, proposals were displayed in St Elvan's Church for the people of Aberdare to come and see for themselves what the project is aiming to achieve. If you missed the exhibition or want to remind yourself of the proposals an online exhibition is available here.|

The works to Aberdare town are in their final stages and heralds the start of creating a new look town centre which is only befitting for the ‘Queen of the Valleys’.
