It’s all about the environment here in Rhondda Cynon Taf and the Council is committed to encouraging everyone who lives, works and visits our County Borough to think GREEN!
Not only does the Council have a great weekly recycling collection service it also encourages its residents to be green in all aspects of their life and care about our beautiful green welsh hills.
The Council’s dedicated Streetcare Enforcement officers work with schools across the County Borough raising awareness on environmental issues and help them to keep their communities clean.
As part of this the pupils are encouraged to take part in poster competitions which depict key environmental problems such as; dog fouling, litter, graffiti and fly tipping. The winners of the competition then have their posters made into signs which are placed all around the local community to highlight the problems in the area.
The Council also carries out various street blitzes, litter picks and projects in communities to ensure our towns are as clean and green as they can be.
The latest projects, Re-uniform, Kit for boots and Bike Recyling aim to help parents save money and the environment by recycling old items and purchasing “like new” replacements.
To showcase the amazing work of its residents and the talents that they boast the Council also hosts various environmentally themed awards and campaigns - from Love Where You Live to Envirovision. All of the various projects aim to reward those who go over and above to shine the green beacon and showcase the wonderful work that they do!
