The Sensory Services Team is made up of specialist social workers and rehabilitation officers who will provide information and offer advice. This should begin to enable you to live as independently as possible in your own home.

Rehabilitation Workers provide a specialist assessment and services to visually impaired persons.  Work undertaken includes:

  • Consideration of a person's eye condition and how it affects every day living
  • Advice on low vision aids, lighting and colour contrast
  • Independent living skills training
  • Communication skills training
  • Provision of equipment
  • Indoor and outdoor mobility training
