Rhondda Cynon Taf on the move

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is at the heart of bringing a host of partners togther to deliver a transport network which serves the needs of local residents, visitors and businesses today and into the future.

The Council assesses the impact of development proposals (such as new housing and supermarkets) on the local transport network and strives to ensure that every aspect of our transport infrastructure operates to support a thriving economy and environment.

On of our main responsibilities is to produce a Transport Plan.  This document sets out our tinking on the area's future transport needs, ways of increasing the transport choice for local residents and ways of improving their access to jobs, education, healthcare and other services. 

The Council is currently developing a Local Transport Plan for the period 2015-2020.  As well as tackling local issues, the Plan weill be supporting the national priorities of the Welsh Government which include addressing poverty, promoting growth and sustainable jobs and ensuring safer comunities for all.  The Plan will also contain details of the Council's medium to longer term aspirations for local transport within the Rhondda Cynon Taf ares up to 2030.
