Library Membership and Joining

Membership Forms:-

Membership forms can be obtained from any of our libraries| or alternatively you can fill in an online membership form| (please note that if you complete an online application form you will be asked for 1 form of ID showing name and address together the first time you use your card.)

Adult membership

To join the library :-

1 form of ID showing name and address is to be provided together with a completed library membership form.

To use the Internet :-

Non library members - 1 form of ID showing name and address together with a completed library membership form AND an Internet access agreement form completed at the library in the presence of the librarian.

Existing library members – completion of the Internet Access agreement form with the existing library membership form acting as sufficient ID.

Junior membership

To join the library (0-13 yrs) :-

1 form of ID showing family address is to be provided together with a completed library membership form signed by a parent or guardian.

If the child is accompanied by their parent/guardian, they are allowed to borrow the full entitlement of 10 items.

If the child is not accompanied by a parent/guardian they join under the Junior Probationary category. They are allowed to borrow a max of 2 books for the first 3 visits. After 3 visits & if all items have been returned, they will be allowed to borrow the full entitlement of 10 items.

 14-16 yrs:-

1 form of ID showing name & family address is to be provided together with a completed library membership form signed by a parent or guardian. Allowed to borrow the full entitlement of 10 items. 

To use the Internet :-

Non library members (0 -16 yrs) - 1 form of ID showing family address together with a completed library membership form and an Internet access agreement form, BOTH signed by a parent or guardian. The young person must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Existing library members - as above except the existing library membership form acts as the required form of ID.
