The official closing date for Cynon Valley Museum and Gallery, as a Council facility, was November 1, 2014.
However, the Cabinet has agreed to support Cynon Valley Museum Trust (CMVT) as they prepare to sustain the facility.
In order to protect any long term plans and proposals for the future of the venue, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council has committed to opening the venue at least once a month, until the new operating arrangements are in place. By opening a set number of times, the venue retains its museum status, which is crucial if it is to have the best-possible chance for the future.
Open days are on the last Saturday of each month and are free of charge.
During open days, visitors can walk in anytime between 10am – 4pm to view the museum exhibition and enjoy any planned events or talks (please note booking may be required for talks, this can be done by contacting Rhondda Heritage Park Tuesday – Saturday between 10:30am – 4:30pm on 01443 682036 or emailing RHPReception@rctcbc.gov.uk
