Are you interested in setting up a Neighbourhood Watch in your area?

Neighbourhood Watch is one of the largest and most successful crime prevention schemes in history. Members reduce crime and increase crime prevention awareness by improving home security.

However, it is not just about reducing crime, it is about bringing neighbours together to create strong, friendly and active communities, lessening the likelihood of crime and anti-social behaviour taking place.

Currently South Wales Police are supporting a number of official Neighbourhood Watch schemes in the Taff Ely and Cynon areas. However, at this time there are no known official Neighbourhood Watch schemes operating in the Rhondda Fach & Rhondda Fawr areas.

The more people there are who want to get involved, the more successful a
Neighbourhood Watch Scheme will be in benefitting everyone who lives in the area.
But not everyone in a street or neighbourhood needs to join a scheme for it to work. It will work as long as there are enough residents to keep an eye out for each other’s properties and to liaise with the police.
