How will your entry to The Llantrisant Walk make a difference?

One of the biggest challenges for anyone is to carry on with life after a diagnosis of cancer. Macmillan Cancer Support is committed to helping everyone with cancer to live life as fully as they can by providing physical, emotional and financial support. When a cure is not possible Macmillan strives to give every possible support throughout the period of palliative care.

A state of the art specialist palliative care unit is currently being built in the grounds of the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. Macmillan has provided £5 million of the £7+million required for this much needed service. With the theme of 'bringing the outside in' the amazing artwork that has been commissioned will provide a tranquil but uplifting environment. Eight single rooms will open up to allow beds to be pushed out onto a private outside space where terminally ill patients may spend time with their family and friends. Spacious day care facilities and therapy/consulting rooms will make it easier for staff to continue with the superb care that is currently offered in the 100 year old building in Pontypridd. The Pontyclun and District Macmillan Fundraising Group has agreed to direct all its fundraising efforts towards the building of the new Y Bwthyn and as always we need your help.
