How do I get there?

Where is the nearest train station?

Mountain Ash Train Station is in the heart of the town centre very close to where the races take place.

Where is the nearest bus station?

In Mountain Ash Town Centre.

What is the post code for sat nav?

The postcode for the park and ride service is CF45 4DG.

Where can I park?

At Mountain Ash Comprehensive School and Mountain Ash Rugby Club Car Park. A free shuttle bus will operate regularly from here to the town centre.

What times are the shuttle buses operating?

The first bus will leave Mountain Ash Comprehensive School at 3.30pm and will run every 10 - 15 minutes. The last bus will leave Aberdare Hotel at 9.30pm.  For full travel information please click here.

What time are the road closures in effect?

3.30pm - 10pm.

Where can I leave my things?

You can change into your running gear at Mountain Ash Day Centre which is in the main street in Mountain Ash.  You can leave your possessions here whilst running the races (Please note belongings are left at your own risk).

Where do I collect my race pack from?

All race packs have been sent via Royal Mail and should be received before Christmas.

Is there any entertainment?

There will be a small selection of young children funfair rides and a firework display will take place at 6.45pm.

What are the prizes?

Every runner will receive a goody bag containing a medal, t-shirt, bottle of water and chocolate bar. The first 6 elite runners will also receive cash prizes.

How do I attach my race number to my clothing?

Safety pins are provided in your race pack.

Where are the public toilets?

Public toilets are located behind the main street in Henry Street car park. Additional toilets can be found outside the day centre.

Can I run with my dog?

No, unfortunately running with dogs or any other pets is not allowed due to insurance and health and safety issues.

Can I run in fancy dress?

Yes.  The Mayor will judge the best costume on the evening and the winner will receive a prize.

What do I do if I lose my race number/chip?

E-mail nosgalan@rctcbc.gov.uk with your name and address and the race you entered.

I can't run now, can I pass my number on?

All race places are non-transferable. Anyone found to be taking part using another person’s unique race number will be disqualified.

What is the length of the course?

5k for adults elite and fun races, 600m for 8, 9, 10 & 11 year olds and 1.2km for 12, 13, 14 & 15 year olds.
