The Local Government elections to both Rhondda Cynon Taf Council and Community/Town Councils take place across the County Borough this week, on Thursday, May 4.  

Candidates for the elections

In order to be able to vote at these elections, all eligible residents of Rhondda Cynon Taf needed to be registered by Thursday, April 13.  Those who did not register will be unable to vote on Thursday, May 4.

Polling Stations will be open 7am until 10pm on Thursday, May 4. The Election Counts will take place at Sobell Sports Centre, Aberdare, Llantrisant Leisure Centre and Rhondda Sports Centre from 9am the following day.

With the announcement that a General Election will now take place on Thursday, June 8, residents who have not registered to vote are reminded that the deadline to register to vote at this election is Monday, May 22. If you have already registered to vote, there is no need to register again.

Registering to vote takes a few minutes but you will need your NI Number and Date of Birth. The quickest way to do this is to register online at www.gov.uk/registertovote
