To kick-start the 80th anniversary celebrations of the Coliseum Theatre in Aberdare, American singer Jack Jones is bringing his 80th Birthday Celebration Tour to the venue - the home of his Welsh roots.
As one of the world’s best-loved international singing stars, he has 60 albums to his name, as well as two Grammy Awards and one Emmy Award.

Perhaps best known for his hit renditions of The Impossible Dream, Wives and Lovers, Lollipops and Roses, What I Did For Love, The Race Is On, Lady, Lady, Call Me Irresponsible and the theme from the television series The Love Boat, Jack Jones continues to tour the world.
Cllr Ann Crimmings, Cabinet Member for Environment and Leisure, said: “The Council is delighted to be welcoming international entertainer Jack Jones back to the hometown of his grandparents.
“Once again, attracting a world-renowned performer such as Jack Jones is testament to the quality of shows being staged at our theatres in Rhondda Cynon Taf.”
The son of actor and singer Allan Jones and Irene Hervey, was born on the night his father recorded his signature tune Donkey Serenade. His grandfather was a coal miner from Aberdare who emigrated to Pennsylvania and continued working in the coal mines.
With a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Jack Jones famously sang on The Ed Sullivan show the night The Beatles made their US debut.
