A ‘Mini Miners’ group aimed at young children, has been launched at the Welsh Mining Experience at Rhondda Heritage Park.
Held on the first Wednesday of every month, Mini Miners is a toddler and baby session which will feature Rhyme Time, Storytelling and much more.
The first Mini Miners session, for pre-school age children, takes place on Wednesday, November 1, from 11am until 12pm. Booking in advance is advisable to avoid any disappointment. The cost will be £2 per child, with the first session on November 1 FREE.
Cllr Ann Crimmings, Cabinet Member for Environment and Leisure, with responsibility for visitor attractions, said: “The Welsh Mining Experience at Rhondda Heritage Park attracts visitors of all ages from around the world.
“I am delighted that a Mini Miners club is being launched at the popular family attraction on November 1, aimed at families with young babies and toddlers. Through the use of storytelling and rhyme, Mini Miners will provide the early years learning experiences that will stand these children in good stead for their future years.
“Mini Miners helps promote increased socialisation at a very young age and will help with the children interact with each other. It will also give parents, carers, guardians and grandparents the opportunity to connect with their wider community.”
The Welsh Mining Experience at Rhondda Heritage Park is based at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery, and is soon to be home to the popular Santa’s Toy Mine, which opens on November 24 until December 31.
