The sun shone and it was a weekend to remember at The National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, with more than 1,200 swimmers enjoying the facilities and the weather.
With the majority of sessions all fully booked online ahead of the weekend, many visitors also snapped up the limited places that were made available on both days at the Reception Desk.
The Council’s popular outdoor family attraction welcomed visitors from all over Wales at the weekend and is open EVERY WEEKEND up until the start of its summer season on Saturday, May 26.
It will then remain open daily until Monday, September 3, and the following two weekends.

During a busy weekend, the National Lido of Wales also hosted two family birthday parties, making it a special occasion for so many people.

Cllr Ann Crimmings, Cabinet Member for Environment and Leisure, with responsibility for Visitor Attractions, said: “The sun shone on Saturday and everyone had a great time at the National Lido of Wales. We had almost 800 visitors on that day alone, with high temperatures recorded at poolside.
“Our two-week opening during the Easter school holidays was a great success, and having listened to customer feedback, we will be trialling weekend opening right through until September.
“Swim sessions in our heated pools are proving to be as popular as ever, whatever the weather, alongside all the usual attractions. We look forward to welcoming all our regulars, as well as new faces during our 2018 season.”
Admission to the National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, is £2 per adult, FREE for children under the age of 16.
Since opening its doors to the public in 2015, the open-air family attraction has welcomed well in excess of 200,000 visitors - over 73,000 last year alone.
As well as the opportunity for lane swimming and more relaxed swims, and a Splash Pool for the little ones, there is once again a whole host of activities on offer at The National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, throughout the 2018 season.
For just £2.50, visitors can also enjoy everything from fun inflatables to Aqua Scooterz, Aqua Peddlerz and Water Walkerz,
Visitors can book their swim sessions and activities online and in advance of their weekend visits, with limited spaces also being made available daily at the Reception Desk. Please note: Bookings cannot be made over the telephone.

Lido Play, the childrens’ adventure park which is also open all year around, captures the imagination of younger visitors as they explore the swings, slides and tunnels in this locally-themed attraction celebrating our industrial past.
