A public consultation over the Council’s proposal to transfer services currently delivered at St. George’s Day Centre in Tonyrefail begins on February 9.
At their meeting on January 25, Cabinet agreed to introduce operational changes to the Council’s Community Meals Service, which will remove the production kitchen from St. George’s Day Centre. Subsequently, Cabinet agreed for the Council to formally consult over the Centre’s long-term future.
The Council is proposing to close St. George’s Day Centre, and transfer its open access day centre provision to the nearby Gilfach Goch Day Centre.
The consultation will take place over eight weeks and will include two drop-in events where people can have their say in person, as well as a survey. The drop-in events will take place at St. George’s Day Centre from midday to 2pm on Wednesday, February 21, and Friday, February 23.
