Dram: The Cinematic Experience gives visitors an even more immersive insight into the life of a coal miner as, while seated inside a coal dram, visitors are taken on a virtual tour along underground tunnels as they take in the twists and turns.

The Council’s popular family tourist attraction welcomes visitors from all over the world, all eager to enjoy the sights and sounds of what it would have been like working underground.

Cllr Ann Crimmings, Cabinet Member for Environment and Leisure, with responsibility for Heritage Service and Visitor Attractions, said: “I am delighted that this new attraction at the Welsh Mining Experience is proving popular with our visitors.

“Even if you have been along to the popular tourist attraction to meet our miners on previous occasions, it is well worth a return visit to take your seat on Dram.”

Suitable for all ages, the new Dram Cinematic Experience adds a new dimension to any visit to the Welsh Mining Experience, the Council’s popular family tourist attraction, all set within a real-life old coal mine, the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery.

Other attractions at the Welsh Mining Experience include Caffe Bracchi; Traditional Welsh Gift Shop and the new Exhibition Area.
