Rhondda Cynon Taf Council's annual Santa Appeal to ensure no child misses out this Christmas is officially open!
Last year, kind-hearted RCT residents, businesses and organisations donated a staggering 2,300 presents to children who, otherwise, may not have had a gift to open on Christmas morning.
Thanks to their generosity, each of the children - identified by social workers - had more than one present to open, each of which had been thoughtfully chosen for their specific age.
Supporting the Santa Appeal is easy! All you have to do is email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01443 425025 and tell Santa's helpers how many children you would like to buy a gift for.
They will send you the name and age of a child. The name given will be an alias, to protect the identity of the child, but it will represent a real child in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
You have until November 30 to make that call or send that email and pledge a gift. Please note, lines will be open from 9.30am to 4.30pm, Tuesday to Friday.
They will also send you details of all collection points so you can choose your nearest - all gifts need to be in open gift bags and at their collection point by December 7th!
Festive service users from the Council's Learning Curve service, and their supporting staff, will then collect all gifts from the various collection points and ensure they are ready and waiting in homes to be opened on Christmas Day.
Cllr Tina Leyshon, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "I am delighted to confirm that the Santa Appeal 2018 is now open.
"This has become a popular and successful Christmas tradition in Rhondda Cynon Taf and, last year, we delivered an amazing 2,300 gifts to children less fortunate than others.
"Thanks to your kindness, we were able to prove to hundreds of children, who might not have received a present otherwise, that Christmas does exist in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
"We are determined to make the Santa Appeal 2018 an even bigger success – together we can do it!"
