Remembrance Sunday Parades and Services take place across Rhondda Cynon Taf this Sunday (November 11).
The Pontypridd Service takes place at St Catherine’s Church, Pontypridd, at 10am, followed by the Remembrance Parade, which starts outside the Church at 10.40am. The Parade will then follow the route to the town’s Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, for the second part of the Remembrance Sunday Service.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Deputy Leader and Armed Forces Champion, Councillor Maureen Webber, said: “All Remembrance Sunday Parades and Services will be a time to remember our Armed Forces community, past and present.
"Each year we wear our poppies with pride as a mark of respect and to give thanks to all of those currently or have previously served at home or overseas, past and present.
“Once again, we will be united on November 11 as we remember them.”
The Council was one of the first local authorities in Wales to establish an Armed Forces Covenant, supporting the Armed Forces community, past and present, and their families.
Remembrance Sunday Services and Parades will take place across the County Borough on Sunday, November 11. Temporary road closures will be in place to facilitate these.
