Rugby legend Shane Williams will be side-stepping his way to Rhondda Cynon Taf tonight and touching down at the Coliseum Theatre for an exclusive intimate evening of chat and sporting anecdotes galore.

The ever-popular former British and Irish Lions and Wales rugby legend, who is not appearing at any other theatre with his show this year, will be talking about his successful career. He will be joined on the night by Welsh entertainers Phyl Harries and Ieuan Rhys.

Shane was capped 87 times for Wales and in 2008, the former Ospreys wing was selected as the World Rugby Player of the Year. He was also crowned BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year in 2008.

He retired from international rugby with a spectacular try in the last minute of the game against Australia at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, on December 3, 2011. He was the Nos Galan Mystery Runner in Mountain Ash the same year.

Since his retirement from international rugby, Shane has worked as a television presenter. He was also inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame in 2016.

Councillor Rhys Lewis, Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, Well-being and Cultural Services, said: “We are delighted to welcome Shane Williams back to Rhondda Cynon Taf. He received a wonderful welcome at the Nos Galan Road Races eight years and I am sure he will experience great adoration once again this time around.

“Shane is a legend of the game, having been an amazing sportsman and ambassador for his sport.

“This will be a great opportunity for fans to spend an evening in his company as he regales the audience with tales of his life on and off the pitch.”

Shane Williams will also be taking part in a Q & A session, so make sure you have your questions ready!
