Join the founder, lead singer and lead guitarist of Status Quo as he talks about the mishaps and adventures of life on the road with one of the biggest and most loved bands ever.
Francis is a true member of ‘British Rock Royalty’. He sang the first words at Live Aid in 1985, was awarded the OBE in 2010 and collected a Brit Award for his Outstanding Contribution to Music.
Formed in 1962, Status Quo has sold more than 120 million records globally. Their vast catalogue of chart hits include Rockin’ All Over The World, Whatever You Want, Just Supposin’ and In The Army Now.
Councillor Rhys Lewis, Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, Well-being and Cultural Services,, said: “It is a huge testament to our theatres in Rhondda Cynon Taf that we are able to attract such a music legend as Francis Rossi to our County Borough.
“This man needs absolutely no introduction as he has been there and done it all – he even kick-started the historic Live Aid concert at Wembley all those years ago.
“I am sure tickets for this show will sell fast, for what will be yet another memorable night in our theatres.”
Speaking on his official website, Francis Rossi said: “This show is something new for me. It will be live and unscripted, so God knows what could happen!
“One thing's for sure though, it'll be a white-knuckle ride for me, but fans will get a real unvarnished insight into what’s happened over the years.
“I'll be taking a guitar along to demonstrate how some of those Quo classics came into being, and hopefully we'll take a few questions from the audience too. It's been quite a journey, there's a lot to share."
The audience at the Park & Dare Theatre can expect laughter, revelations, tales involving some of the giants of music, exclusive video clips, snatches of classic tunes and a great night out.
Rossi will be joined on stage by award-winning writer and broadcaster Mick Wall, who has sold more than one million books.
