Aberdare Festival is back over the Spring Bank Holiday Weekend, with the ever-popular, award-winning Penaluna’s Famous Fish & Chips sponsoring the event on Saturday 25th May 2019.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, which organises Aberdare Festival, is delighted to have the backing of the family-owned, local business Penaluna’s Famous Fish & Chips, which draws in crowds from far and wide to try their scrumptious meals.
Multi award-winners at The National Fish & Chips Awards annually since 2013, Hirwaun-based Penaluna’s Famous Fish & Chips offers the finest cuisine in the locality, and is regularly ranked as one of the best in the UK.
Since purchasing the Bedonia Cafe and Fish Bar in 2006, with the help of his father and family, Lee Penaluna has firmly established the thriving business within the community, with thousands annually flocking to pay them a visit.
Lee, of Penaluna’s Famous Fish & Chips, said: “We are proud to be associated with Aberdare Festival 2019, a fun event for all the family, situated in Aberdare Park - one of the finest examples of a Victorian park in Wales.
“Already attracting thousands of visitors to the area every year, Aberdare Park is the perfect setting for Aberdare Festival, and to eat our award-winning fish and chips! We are very pleased to once again be sponsoring Aberdare Festival, which our customers and residents of Rhondda Cynon Taf will surely enjoy.”
Councillor Maureen Webber, Deputy Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, said: “I would like to thank Penaluna’s Famous Fish & Chips for their support of Aberdare Festival again this year. The event, which is always a firm favourite with families, is one of many events the Council hosts across the County Borough throughout the year.
“Free events such as these continue to attract thousands of visitors and help boost the local economy by bringing a large influx of people into our town centres and surrounding areas, increasing footfall and promoting what our towns have to offer.
“There are many attractions at Aberdare Festival this year, with something for everyone, and the Council continues to work with the Friends of Aberdare Park as we look to develop the park further following recent investment in improvements to the play area and footpath and the reinstatement of boats on the lake.
“Aberdare Festival provides the perfect opportunity to showcase Aberdare Park in all of its glory. We look forward to welcoming everyone on the day.”
Aberdare Festival 2019 takes place at Aberdare Park on Saturday, May 25. Gates open from 11am until 5pm. Admission is FREE. Please note there will be additional charges for some attractions. For further details visit www.aberdarefestival.co.uk
