Books 7

Lots of events are planned across Rhondda Cynon Taf this week to celebrate Libraries Week (October 7-12).

The aim of Libraries Week is to highlight the different ways that libraries can help people of all ages through digital support, services and activities.

Based on the national theme of Celebrating Libraries in a Digital World, activities with a digital focus for adults and young people will be on offer throughout the week, including Borrowbox tutorials and Family History resources.

There are 13 libraries across Rhondda Cynon Taf. Check out our locations and opening times

Councillor Rhys Lewis, Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, Well-being and Cultural Services, said: “We have a brilliant programme of activities taking place during Libraries Week that we hope will bring people together to find out more about all the ways we can help them through digital support and services to get connected, get creative and learn new skills.

“Our libraries engage with our communities through a variety of ways – from providing invaluable lifelong learning opportunities through the provision of digital skills opportunities, to supporting health and wellbeing by tackling isolation, and even support for our local businesses and enterprises.

“We have 13 libraries located across Rhondda Cynon Taf that already have thousands of members, and, don’t forget that it is free to join.”
