The Council is reminding residents living within designated Residential Parking Zones that they must now renew their parking permits for the year 2020-21, if they have not already done so – as enforcement activity within these areas will be recommencing shortly.
The Council’s parking enforcement activity in Town Centres, and via the two camera enforcement vehicles, has recently restarted. The Council has also received requests from community members in a number of locations to resume parking enforcement activity more widely, including residential areas.
A Residential Parking Zone is a street or area where parking is organised in order to help residents park their vehicles. They are provided in areas where vehicles not belonging to residents would otherwise make this difficult.
Over the past few weeks, the Council has issued social media reminders to residents that they must now renew their Residential Parking Zone permits.
The Council is now announcing that enforcement activity will shortly be resuming in these areas, and Officers will begin issuing Penalty Charge Notices to those vehicles not displaying permits.
