The Leader of the Council has today (Tuesday, May 26) provided an update on the status of Ynysangharad War Memorial Park in Pontypridd.

Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, Councillor Andrew Morgan, said: “In line with the latest Government advice and following the completion of the repair works over the course of the last review period, I can confirm that Ynysangharad War Memorial Park will re-open to the public from tomorrow (Wednesday, May 27) between the hours of 10am and 6pm.

“Council Enforcement Officers and local PCSOs will be undertaking regular patrols of the Park to ensure that social distancing guidelines are being adhered to and, as is the case with all of our parks, the situation will be kept under review - and the Council will take action in the interests of public safety and could consider closing the Park if there are significant issues around a lack of social distancing or crowds gathering.

“We want residents to use the Park as part of their daily exercise in the open air, but please do so responsibly and adhere to the social distancing guidelines at all times.”
