Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Leisure for Life Service has once again stepped in to ensure a summer of fun, fitness and healthy activities while school is out, thanks to its Summer Pass.

Thousands of thousands of parents or carers have snapped up Summer Passes in recent years, with children and young people enjoying unlimited access to swimming, indoor sports such as squash and badminton and the gym (age 11+) over the long summer holidays at a bargain price.

Combined with free family swims at all Leisure for Life pools, a range of high-quality, open-access Multi Use Games Areas (MUGAs) for football, basketball, netball, badminton and more PLUS a packed timetable of sporting sessions from Sport RCT, there is loads on this summer for children and young people, thanks to Leisure for Life.

While the Summer Pass is popular with children and young people looking to spend the long summer holidays in a fun and active way, it’s important to remember the pass is open to all ages.

That means it is also great for:

  • University students home for the summer who want to keep up their fitness routine or try something new.
  • Residents who can use the pass as an effective way to try Leisure for Life and start their journey
  • Visiting friends and family who want to use leisure facilities while they are in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

The Summer Pass is easy, affordable and offers unbeatable access to a range of leisure services. It can be used at any of our 12 Leisure for Life centres. Using it is simple, just purchase from any Leisure for Life centre and it is ready to use for the next two weeks!

Enjoy swimming, sports and leisure as often as you like and when the pass expires, simply purchase another one for the next two weeks! You can buy as many passes as you like until the offer expires in September.

Summer Passes are £26 full or £16.50 for concessions (aged 60 and over, aged 18 and under, registered carers, those on qualifying benefits. See the full criteria here)

Cllr Scott Emanuel, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for Leisure for Life, said: “The Summer Pass is yet another example of the innovative way Leisure for Life strives to offer easy and accessible health, wellbeing and leisure opportunities for all.

“It’s not called Leisure for Life for no reason! It’s there for every resident at every stage of life - from newborns in their first splash swimming lesson to older people using fitness to help them stay active, confident and even recover from illness and injury.

“Leisure for Life is there for you at all stages of your life – no matter what you want to achieve – with friendly, professional and knowledgeable staff there to help you every step of the way.

“General Leisure for Life membership is already one of the most generous and inclusive in the region, offering unlimited gym, swimming, fitness classes, health suite access and indoor sports across 12 centres.

“But further commitment is made to residents and their needs, as reflected in the broad range of membership concessions and initiatives offered, and the delivery of seasonal offers such as the Summer Pass.

“Children and young people can have a great time with their friends this summer, enjoying sport, leisure and fitness in a safe environment for an affordable price. They can meet new people, learn new skills and perhaps develop a sporting passion.

“Combined with the free swimming and open access MUGAs, plus the brilliant programme from Sport RCT, 2026 is the summer of leisure!”
