The Explosives Regulations 2014 came into force on 1st October 2014.
These regulations mean that you need to be issued with a licence to store certain types of explosives including fireworks. View exemptions to this licence.
Licences are issued by the local authority in whose area the explosives/fireworks are to be stored for up to a maximum quantity of 2000kg (net) providing certain separation distances can be met in relation to specified types of buildings, accommodation, roads, etc.
Licences are also issued by the police and the Health and Safety Executive depending on the quantity and nature of the explosives.
