Adult social care and our providers in Rhondda Cynon Taf are supporting over 4000 people in their homes and in care settings every day. As the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) continues, there may be a slight disruption to some of our services.
Please be assured that we are following and reviewing Government and Public Health Wales guidance to make sure that we are able to respond to the latest advice and are working closely with our partners and providers to ensure they are following infection control advice and continue to deliver safe care.
Our main priorities are:
- Keeping people with care and support needs, safe and well in the community.
- Keeping flow through the hospital so that people who are the most unwell can be cared for.
- Developing a community service that can respond quickly to help people who may be isolated and in need of support – this is a link to the new hubs.
All of the below services are under constant review and contact will be maintained, subject to ongoing risk assessment, with all people affected by changes to the care and support services contacted via telephone, to ensure they are safe and well and receiving the support needed during this time.
Care and Support at Home
Adult services are continuing to support people in the community and on discharge from hospital but due to the current situation with Covid 19, there may be some temporary disruption while we prioritise our services. Anyone affected will be contacted.

Older People's Residential and Nursing Care
All care homes are continuing to provide an essential service, while taking all necessary actions to reduce the risk of infection to the people living there.
Routine visits (indoors and outdoors) should not take place during the firebreak period unless in exceptional circumstances including end of life visits.
We are asking care home providers to ensure that appropriate and sensitive arrangements are made to support visits in these circumstances. The visit should be discussed and agreed with the individual care home in advance prior to travel.
