Leisure Centres 

Following the Welsh Government ‘fire break’ announcement, from 6pm Friday 23 October 2020, Leisure Centres across Rhondda Cynon Taf will be closed temporarily. We will update residents when the service is able to reopen. 

All membership payments for November 2020 will be reduced from 1st Nov to take account for the full lockdown period. Any annual payments paid in advance will be extended by 2 weeks after the ‘fire break’.

Libraries 

Following the Welsh Government ‘fire break’ announcement, from 6pm Friday 23 October 2020, Libraries across Rhondda Cynon Taf will be closed temporarily and the “Order and Collect” service suspended. We will update residents when the service is able to reopen. 

Theatres 

ALL RCT Theatres are CLOSED to the public, to allow the Council to redeploy staff to priority services and also in line with the UK and Welsh Government guidance to limit unnecessary social contact. 

Events 

ALL Events across the County Borough up to and including the month of September are now CANCELLED. The preparation and organisation required to plan and host events is not possible under the current circumstances as the Council has redeployed staff to priority services, and the decision is also in line with the latest social distancing guidance from the UK and Welsh Governments.  

Welsh Mining Experience at Rhondda Heritage Park 

Following the Welsh Government ‘fire break’ announcement, from 6pm Friday 23 October 2020, the Welsh Mining Experience at Rhondda Heritage Park will be closed temporarily. We will update residents when the service is able to reopen. 

Public Conveniences 

Following the Welsh Government ‘fire break’ announcement, from 6pm Friday 23 October 2020, the following Public Conveniences will remain, OPEN.

PLEASE NOTE: Any that are not listed below will be CLOSED temporarily.

The following Public Conveniences remain OPEN across Rhondda Cynon Taf:

  • Morgan Street, Pontypridd
  • Aberdare, Duke Street
  • Porth, Hannah Street
  • Talbot Green, Talbot Road
  • Treorchy, Station Road
  • Mountain Ash, Oxford Street
  • Tonypandy, Dunraven Street

Toilets situated in Aberdare Park, Dare Valley Country Park and Ynysangharad War Memorial Park will also remain open.

The toilets will be open from;10am until 4pm, Monday to Saturday. The facilities will be regularly cleaned and the public are reminded to be respectful of these facilities and staff at all times. Any abuse, misuse or vandalism will result in the immediate closure of the affected public convenience.
