Leisure Centres 

Leisure Services are operating in line with the current Welsh Government COVID-19 Alert Level restrictions.

Please note that Rhondda Sports Centre and Llantrisant Leisure Centre remain critical locations in the mass vaccination programme. Both will continue to operate limited services (gym, swim and classes at Llantrisant, gym and classes at Rhondda) but will not be involved in the service extension.

A Welsh Coal Mining Experience at Rhondda Heritage Park is operating in line with the current Welsh Government COVID-19 Alert Level restrictions.

Libraries 

All libraries are operating in line with the current Welsh Government COVID-19 Alert Level restrictions. Extra precautions in place are as follows;

  • Order and Collect service.
  • A maximum number of borrowers in the library at any one time. The maximum number of borrowers allowed into a library will vary from site to site and this number will be set prior to re-opening.
  • All borrowers must wear a face mask (unless medical reasons prevent this) and sanitise their hands upon entering the building.
  • Time within the library limited to 30 minutes and borrowers encouraged to use self-service kiosks where available.
  • Procedures put in place for staff monitoring of social distancing.
  • Perspex screens at points where face to face contact may occur.
  • Seating/furniture to be removed
  • Library shelving rearranged where possible to encourage social distancing and create one-way systems. If possible different entry and exit points to be used.
  • Limited use of community meeting rooms will also be allowed.
  • Use of the Reference areas to be allowed by appointment. One-hour sessions to be available and use limited to 2 persons. Any local history materials used to be quarantined for 72 hours.

Please note all current Covid restrictions to service delivery will continue to apply until further notice.

Theatres 

RCT Theatres are operating in line with the current Welsh Government COVID-19 Alert Level restrictions.

All of our One4all's are operating in line with the current Welsh Government COVID-19 Alert Level restrictions.

Public Conveniences

Public conveniences are operating in line with the current Welsh Government COVID-19 Alert Level restrictions.

Toilets will be open from 9am until 4pm, Monday to Saturday. The facilities will be regularly cleaned and the public are reminded to be respectful of these facilities and staff at all times. Any abuse, misuse or vandalism will result in the immediate closure of the affected public convenience.

  • Ynysangharad War Memorial Park toilets  are open 7 days a week - 8:30 am - 7pm.
  • Aberdare Park toilets are open 7 days a week - 7am until 7:30pm 
  • Dare Valley Country Park toilets also remain open 7 day a week - 9am until 4pm.

Please note: Opening times may change during Christmas and Bank Holiday periods
