Town Centre Parking Charges Suspended
Car park charges in Pontypridd and Aberdare will be suspended for a period of four months, starting tomorrow morning (March 25). This measure is to make access to essential food and groceries in town centres more accessible for residents. Parking in all other towns remains free.
Highway Inspections Suspended
The Council has suspended its proactive highway inspections following public health guidance relating to social distancing – but will maintain a response to urgent issues during this challenging period. Full details here.

Public Rights of Way
Residents should not travel to visit the countryside unnecessarily and should follow social distancing measures if using local routes in order to protect themselves and others.
The Welsh Government has introduced emergency regulations (The Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (Wales) Regulations 2020) which enables local authorities to close public paths and access land where use poses a high risk to the spread of coronavirus.
If the Council identifies areas where groups of people are congregating and actively ignoring the new measures set out by the UK Government to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the Council will immediately close rights of way and access land.
