The Access and Inclusion Service in Rhondda Cynon Taf is a key element of the Council’s arrangements for the support of pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
The service consists of:
- Educational Psychology Service
- Learner Support Service
- Early Years and Additional Learning Provision
- EOTAS
- Additional Learning Needs Administrative Service (ALNAS)
How is a learner with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) supported to learn through the medium of Welsh?
Every team within the Access and Inclusion service has Welsh speaking ALN specialist staff who provide specialist advice and training to Welsh medium schools to support learners who have an additional learning need.
From September 2024, there will be 3 Welsh medium Learning Support Classes in RCT to support primary and secondary aged learners with significant learning needs. These will be located at:
- YGG Awel Taf – 2 new Welsh medium Learning Support Classes for Foundation Phase learners.
- Ysgol Garth Olwg – specialist provision for secondary aged learners in Key Stages 3 and 4.
