This two day suggested itinerary takes you the length and breadth of beautiful Rhondda Cynon Taff, from the edge of Cardiff right to the foothills of the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park.

Day 1

Stop 1 - Nantgarw China Works Museum
Start your day at Nantgarw Chinaworks Museum. Groups of up to forty individuals are warmly welcomed here for guided tours including porcelain and pipe making demonstrations. Nantgarw Chinaworks Museum is home to the world famous Nantgarw porcelain and is the only surviving early 19th century porcelain works in the United Kingdom. On rare occasions, pieces of original Nantgarw porcelain come up for auction and can fetch tens of thousands of pounds. 

Stop 2 - Ty Newydd Country House Hotel
Relax in the beautiful surroundings of the Ty Newydd Country House Hotel where you can enjoy lunch in Caradog’s Restaurant.

Stop 3 - Penderyn Distillery
Located in the historic village of Penderyn on the doorstep of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Penderyn Distillery produces award-winning single malt whiskies and spirits which are made using the site’s own supply of fresh natural spring water and sold all over the world. Take the tour and sample the products at the Tasting Bar.

Stop 4 - Heritage Park Hotel
Stay overnight in the heart of the Rhondda Valley at the Heritage Park Hotel. Conveniently situated next door to the Welsh Mining Museum, the hotel has a range of rooms available ranging from classic twin rooms to executive suites.

Day 2

Stop 1 - A Welsh Coal Mining Experience
Start the second day of your journey through Rhondda Cynon Taf with a morning tour of A Welsh Coal Mining Experience at Rhondda Heritage Park. Follow the guides underground and listen to fascinating tales of mining life in the Welsh valley that once powered the world.

Stop 2 - Miskin Manor Hotel

Finish your two day trip here with an informal yet informative vineyard tour and wine tasting. The tour gives a brief history of the vineyard, Welsh wine and wine tasting, followed by a guided tour and a sample of three different still wines.
