The Osprey Fly Fishers' Association has been running since 1971 and holds weekly meeting at their clubhouse in Abercynon, where tuition in Fly-tying and Casting is provided by qualified coaches.  A number of competitions, both bank and boat are held at various venues throughout the Country during the season.

Season:
Brown Trout - 3rd March - 30th September.
Grayling - 1st October - 28th February 

Fishing Rights Available
Members are able to fish most of the river Taff between Upper Boat and the treatment works in Abercynon, the Beacons Reservoir and stretches of Lower Clydach river towards Ynysybwl, and the Rhondda River from Pontypridd to Trehafod.

Fish Available
Brown Trout and Grayling fishing is available on the Taff catch and release is recommended with the use of barbless hooks, no more than two sizeable fish (at least 9" overall) to be kept per day
