How we use your personal information for UKCRF applications

The Local Authority is working with UK Government to support our communities to pilot programmes and new approaches within RCT.

In this privacy notice, we have summarised some of the key ways in which we use your personal information for the UKCRF programme. This information should be read in conjunction with the Council’s corporate privacy notice.

The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) are the commissioner for this scheme and the Council act as an approved gateway body and receive applications in line with the purposes of grant scheme.  Please refer to their UKCRF Privacy Notice here

1. Who we are, what we do? 

The UKCRF grant funding programme is a Central Government funded programme offering people and communities the opportunity to bid for funds to develop projects that will enhance the local area.

As a gateway body, the Council will receive applications and assess them against UK Government criteria. We then forward these approved applications to The MHCLG who have the final decision on which applications are successful.

2. What and whose personal information we hold?

We hold information on the applicants who apply for the scheme. This includes:

  • Name, address, email, telephone numbers, website, company and charity registration numbers.

  • Bank details should the application be successful.

3. Where does the service get my information from?

The information we receive is from:

  • the applicant on the application form.

  • 3rd parties such as Companies House and The Charity Commission to validate the status of your organisation.

4. What will we do with your personal information?

Successful Applicants

We will use your information to process your application and then forward these to The (MHCLG) for the final decision.

Unsuccessful Applicants

Your information will not be used for any further purpose.

5. What is the legal basis for the use of this information?

Data Protection law says that we are allowed to use and share personal information only where we have a proper and lawful reason for doing so.

Our lawful basis for processing personal information to deliver the UKCRF programme of provision is to exercise our functions as a public authority and in the public interest.

6. Does the service share my personal information with any other organisation?

Successful Applicants

We will share your information with The MHCLG for a final decision to be made regarding your application.

Unsuccessful Applicants

Your information will not be shared with any other organisation or processed for any further purpose.

7. How long will my information be kept?

Information will be held for the duration of the scheme for both successful and unsuccessful applicants both for monitoring and feedback purposes and then securely destroyed.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you important rights, including the right to access the personal information the services hold about you.
