Supporting National Teaching Assistants' Day

The Council is supporting National Teaching Assistants’ Day on Thursday, September 16, celebrating the valuable contribution they have made to education across Rhondda Cynon Taf throughout the pandemic.

Our Teaching Assistants have also provided vital support to learners of all ages, as well as their classroom colleagues.

Councillor Joy Rosser, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Cabinet Member for Education and Inclusion Services, said:

“National Teaching Assistants’ Day is a time to reflect on the past 18 months and to show our appreciation and gratitude to all of our teaching assistants across our County Borough.

“Through terrible times, and often difficult circumstances for themselves, they have remained professional, providing support and assistance to our teachers, governing bodies, our schools, and most importantly to the learners themselves.

“They also helped greatly during remote support learning, helping students of all ages to learn effectively at home during periods of lockdown.

“National Teaching Assistants’ Day is a day for us to thank them all for their sterling work, through the good times and bad times. We truly do value your massive contribution to Education within Rhondda Cynon Taf.”

National Teaching Assistants' Day aims to raise awareness of the hard work and efforts of teaching assistants all over the UK and also recognises their contribution to the classroom and the good relationship that exists between them and the teachers and learners.
