Have Your Say as part of our polling places review

A review of electoral polling districts, polling places and polling stations used for UK Parliamentary elections across the County Borough is being carried out by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council.  A six-week public consultation process in relation to the review starts on Monday 9th October.

The review, which is required to be carried out by law, takes place every five years. The review will look at the suitability of existing polling stations and potential alternative venues, as well as the polling districts they serve.

Individuals and interested organisations/stakeholders are invited to provide feedback as part of a public consultation.

The Council would particularly like to hear from any person or group with experiences or expertise on accessing a polling station for people with a disability. It’s also an opportunity for any issues to be raised with the accessibility of existing polling stations.

The closing date for feedback is 17th November 2023. Following this date, all responses will be reviewed and, along with any recommendations which may be made by the Acting Returning Officer, will be discussed by the Council later in the year.

Any changes would then be incorporated into the electoral register from 1st February 2024 and would take effect at any election held after that date.
