Welsh Government funding is secured to deliver the scheme, through the Safe Routes in Communities programme. It will install pedestrian crossing improvements and resurfacing at key junctions, plus footway buildouts in targeted positions.

Cabinet has now agreed for the Council to formally adopt the new Tonypandy Town Centre Strategy, with its ambitious 'Welcome to Pandy' vision, following very positive feedback received in a public engagement exercise
Minimal disruption is expected during the investigations, which will start from the week commencing February 9 and last around a month. However, the informal riverside footpath will be brought out of use for the works, to ensure safety
The work will begin from 8am and will include road closures at sections of Taff Street, Mill Street, High Street, and Market Street. The works will be completed on Sunday, with the road closures lifted upon completion later in the day
