Nantgarw China Works is one of the most important industrial heritage sites in Wales. It was here in the early 19th century that William Billingsley created arguably the finest porcelain ever made. Two hundred years on the China Works is now a museum, arts centre and is once again creating beautiful items from the unique Nantgarw porcelain.
In the early part of the nineteenth century Nantgarw China Works was responsible for producing arguably the finest porcelain ever made. Now one of Wales’ most important heritage sites the China Works host a museum celebrating the history of China Works from 1813 – 1920 as well as running popular ceramic and glass making workshops, hosting ceramic exhibitions and in 2018 once again started to make porcelain from the original Nantgarw recipe.
