Opened in September 2018, Ysgol Nantgwyn became a 3-16 school comprising of new build elements – while the existing buildings on site were remodelled and refurbished. The scheme included refurbished D&T rooms, while ICT, Graphics and some general classrooms were upgraded
The remainder of the works to the school include the new build element of the lower school, a new multi-use games area (MUGA), outdoor classroom and developments to onsite parking. The Council also commissioned further redecoration works to the existing school buildings in addition to the main 21st Century Schools project, to ensure that the entire school is equipped to deliver a modern education curriculum.
